| 摘要： | This article discusses the measurement of response readiness to potential oil spills by the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office (MSO). An oil spill response readiness index comprised of 5 variables is developed, each of which is weighted and entered into a formula to derive an index number. This index number is used as a visual indicator on a corresponding "dashboard" gauge to provide a measure of response readiness. The formula and its 5 component variables are examined and explained. |
