| 摘要： | In this article, the Transportation Research Board Committee on Maintenance and Operations Management identify the major trends that affect maintenance, cite current and emerging innovations in management and technology, and examine the key maintenance challenges of the 21st century. The importance of maintenance is increasingly recognized as society moves forward in the new millennium. With the U.S. Interstate highway system essentially in place, the focus of transportation programs is shifting from capital investment to maintenance and operation. Many in the public and private sectors consider maintenance the key to protecting the nation's highway investment and to continuing to provide a safe, efficient transportation system. Because new highway funding is not likely to be allocated on the scale of that in the past, maintenance managers must achieve maximum performance from the existing system. |
