| 摘要： | The object of this study is to compare the trends and levels of road safety between the USA, the UK and the RSA after 1966. These countries will be compared on the basis of their respective levels of personal safety, transport safety and mobility/motorisation. To make meaningful comparisons these indicators will be compared at equal levels of mobility and transport safety. It will be shown that South Africa has the worst levels of personal and transport safety. It will also be shown that although the USA has a similar level of transport safety as the UK, its level of personal safety is considerably worse than that of the UK at similar levels of mobility.
