摘要：	Multi-state transportation operations programs (MSTOPS) can incorporate and support regional transportation operations organizations and initiatives. MSTOPS also offer a mechanism for fostering and coordinating state level planning and programming for ITS and transportation operations. In both roles, MSTOPS can serve as vital catalysts for building relationships between transportation and public safety communities, and can support multi-state regional commerce and emergency preparedness. Two MSTOPS--the I-95 Coalition in the Northeast and the Gary-Chicago-Milwaukee Corridor in the Midwest-demonstrate the value of MSTOPS and are described in this paper.
