| 摘要： | Since 1995, VicRoads has been installing Drive Time on Melbourne's freeway network to provide users with travel time and congestion information. This information is not available for the 1000 kilometres of arterial roads in Melbourne. In 1995, VicRoads successfully trialed a vehicle tagging system operating at a radio frequency of 152 MHz, to provide travel times on arterial roads. Before this system could be implemented, a large number of vehicle tags operating at the 5.8 GHz CEN standard became available from the Melbourne City Link project. The Arterial Travel Time System will use readers to detect these tags in vehicles as they pass through particular intersections. Aggregating the travel times between a series of readers will enable the total trip time to be calculated. A contract has been let for the supply and installation of 50 readers as the first part of the project which is expected to be complete in 2002. (A*) For the covering abstract see ITRD E110327. |
