摘要: |
As an elementary technology for AHS (Advanced Cruise-assist Highway System), research is being done in different countries on vehicle position sensing systems using the lane markers laid on the road, such as magnetic nails. A real-time system for detecting a vehicle's position in a lane, information about that lane, the presence and position of stop lines, etc. in a running vehicle is an important fundamental technology in order to develop a system for the realization of AHS user services in the "Smart Way". AHSRA has been conducting research on real-time vehicle position sensing technology since 1996, as consigned by the Public Works Research Institute (PWRI) of the Ministry of Construction (MOC). This paper gives an outline of the research on vehicle position sensing technology at AHSRA, together with a report on the contents of magnetic and radio wave lane marker systems under development, and on the results of their evaluation. The paper finally suggests an appropriate lane marker system for AHS user services. (A*) For the covering abstract see ITRD E110327. |
