An approach to deliver time-dependent traffic flow and travel time estimations of an urban road network is described. This approach is based on microscopic simulation using time-dependent origin-destination matrices. Main elements of the simulation are the Optimal Velocity Model (OVM), a new lane changing model and the C-logit model to calculate the traffic assignment. The simulation tool needs also a detailed description of the road network with information about lane numbers, traffic regulations, timetable of the traffic lights etc. The comparison between simulation and field observation results shows that the chosen approach is able to give an estimation of time-dependent traffic information e.g. travel time or traffic flow information.
