| 摘要： | This is a follow-up project to demonstrate field applications of an electrochemical paint removal process, developed in an earlier IDEA project (NCHRP-IDEA 23), on a highway bridge. The field demonstration was performed on I-66/Westmoreland Boulevard overpass in Arlington, Virginia, in collaboration with Virginia DOT and FHWA. The demonstration was preceded by an open house organized by the Virginia DOT to highlight the IDEA technology. The field test results were consistent with the target removal rate of 40 square feet per hour. Tests for environmental contamination and occupational exposure showed no soil contamination and personnel exposure well below the specified OSHA level. |
