Meon refused to go into hiding throughout the pandemic. While some might have been tempted to retreat and find a place to weather the storm, this leading line marking and surface repair company went out to support the community. Taking up the challenge of 'build back better', it hosted a headline virtual event to debate the concept and galvanise the industry around the message even in the midst of the crisis. Then in October 2020, it went further and launched a part-online, part in-person skills and training academy to help ensure the industry could continue to tackle the skills gap. Those interested can register for free through a web portal accessed on Meon's website. The Training Academy is split into three key elements: 1. Firstly The Basics - instant access to a series of introductory training video modules, with free membership and registration. 2. Next a series of 'Lite' virtual courses, covering a range of modules. 3. Then the Pro series, which is where registered users can access and book face-to-face training courses held at Meon's dedicated training centre in Portsmouth. The modules convert decades of experience at Meon into bespoke training running from basics such as 'understanding paint, applications to be done, pre-applications to be done' to more advanced face-to-face courses covering safety and risk awareness, use of the machines and application of product. The advanced courses also impart regular maintenance knowledge and handy tricks of the trade. |
