摘要: Zaragoza City Council has ordered 68 electric Irizar buses, to be operated by Avanza. Irizar said the order is the company's largest electric bus project to date. The fleet is made up of E-mobility ie Trams, 51 at the 12m length vehicles and 17 articulated 18m buses. The first of these vehicles to arrive, an 18m artic, is currently undergoing testing in the Spanish city. It is operating on routes with sufficient demand to require an articulated bus. The vehicle gets its name from its exterior styling, which resembles a tram, though it is not confined to tram tracks and offers the flexibility of a standard city bus. The larger 18m variant can carry up to 145 passengers. The lithium-ion batteries powering the vehicles are developed and manufactured by Irizar. The Government of Zaragoza recently took the decision to convert its bus fleet entirely to electric vehicles. There are currently four zero-emission vehicles in the fleet, along with 111 hybrids and 352 diesels. The electric fleet transition is being carried out in line with the Recovery Transformation and Resilience Plan under the Next Generation EU package. It is eligible for European funding and Zaragoza hopes to access grants in future bidding rounds to support the transition. A European manufacturer was selected in order to qualify for these funds with 'enhanced guarantees,' and was cited as a major factor in the decision to select Irizar.
