摘要: A FIRST OBJECT OF THE STUDY IS TO OBTAIN A DYNAMIC MODEL FOR DESCRIBING THE MOVEMENTS OF CAR AND CARAVAN ACCURATELY DURING COMBINED STEERING AND BRAKING MANOEUVRES. UNDER THESE CONDITIONS THE ADHESION BETWEEN TYRE AND ROAD CAN BE STRESSED TO SUCH AN EXTENT BY THE SIMULTANEOUS ACTION OF CIRCUMFERENTIAL AND SIDEWAYS FORCES THAT DANGEROUS SITUATIONS CAN ARISE IN THE BOUNDARY AREA. THE OTHER IMPORTANT OBJECT IS, USING THE MODEL DURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PRACTICAL PROCEDURE FOR CHECKING THE HANDLING OF A CAR-CARAVAN TRAIN, TO FIND A SUFFICIENT MINIMUM NUMBER OF CAR-TRAILER COMBINATIONS. THE CALCULATIONS SHOULD PROVIDE INFORMATION ON THE REQUIREMENTS TO BE SET ON THE HANDLING OF CAR-CARAVAN TRAINS DURING BRAKING ON A BEND IN ORDER TO GUARANTEE SAFETY ON THE ROAD. THE WORK IS STARTING WITH THE EXTENSION AND ADAPTATION OF AN EXISTING MODEL TO GIVEN WHEEL DYNAMICS AND THE INTERACTIONS OF CIRCUMFERENTIAL AND SIDEWAYS SLIP.
