TO STUDY THE VARIOUS FACTORS INFLUENCING THE STRENGTH OF ANCHORAGE SYSTEMS. A SMALL-SCALE MODEL STUDY ENABLES THE INFLUENCE OF THE LENGTH OF THE TIE ROD ON THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE ANCHORAGE DEVICE TO BE DETERMINED. THE PRESENT PHASE OF THE RESEARCH CONSISTS OF FULL-SCALE TESTS AND DEALS WITH THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS: INFLUENCE OF INTERNAL FRICTION; INFLUENCE OF THE IRREGULARITY OF THE BULB; INFLUENCE OF THE LENGTH; INFLUENCE OF CREEP.
