| 摘要： | The collection and aggregation of roadway behavior data from vehicles reporting in real time has introduced a new set of tools for state DOT’s to fill gaps in their existing understanding of roadway behavior. However, the private sector entities that provide this data and related analytics are still relatively new and there is a changing picture about what is available, what will be available and what can be relied upon. This work, to be performed for an executive level audience shall include the following tasks: (1) Conduct a state of the practice survey of various DOTs, transportation agencies and data service providers, to understand what and how telematics data are being used and what data sources will be available in the next 2 years. (2) Synthesize the current experience to include: data offerings with the traditional responsibilities of the department of transportation and challenges, such as privacy and legality, acceptability by FHWA, and reliability, that comes with accessing this data. |
