In November, 2020, the AASHTO Board of Directors unanimously passed a resolution pledging to engage in the vital work of advancing racial justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. The resolution asserted their commitment to anti-discrimination in the delivery of all programs and services, including improving contracting and procurement practices to assist DBEs, focusing efforts on recruitment, promotion, and training so that the DOTs better reflect the communities they serve, and ensuring inclusive workplaces.
The objectives of this project are to: (1) review and summarize recent relevant transportation related equity research; (2) identify gaps in research that may be developed into research problem statements and prioritized in a transportation equity research roadmap; (3) provide a research activity roadmap timeline to assist the Equity Task Force with research activity prioritization; and (4) develop a knowledge transfer plan. |
