| 摘要： | Several state departments of transportation have integrated Mobile Road Weather Information Sensors (RWIS) to supplement fixed road weather information sensors (RWIS) sites. A recently completed ICT-IDOT research project (R27-SP47) focused on (a) evaluating the effectiveness of commercially available mobile RWIS, and (b) gathering and analyzing the experiences of other state DOTs in collecting real-time winter roadway conditions using mobile RWIS and MDSS. The findings of this recently completed research project confirmed the need for a pilot study that focus on evaluating the implementation of mobile RWIS and MDSS in order to determine their effectiveness, implementation requirements, software/technology needs, operational challenges, and life-cycle costs. |
