| 摘要： | In this issue, we are focusing on opening an airfield following either a permissive or non-permissive turnover. The United States military has been required to open airfields for combat operations in every war since the Wright Brothers first flew. Examples such as Henderson Field on Guadalcanal to Talil AB in Iraq continue to remind us of the need for standard procedures to establish an airfield especially when used by more than one component. To help standardize tactical-level details of this process, subject matter experts from all the Services took part in two joint working groups producing a draft MTTP for Airfield Opening. It covers issues from planning to execution of an airfield opening in any theater. This publication also should be completed by early 07 and will be available to the warfighter in both the standard size and the pocket size versions.
