摘要: Leveraging recent development at Georgia Tech, this project attempts to address the bridge safety issue in a two-pronged approach: bridge monitoring and weigh-in-motion using an integrated wireless sensing system developed by PI Wang�s group [1, 2]. The Martlet smart wireless sensing system is particularly designed for civil structural applications. Building blocks of this system are individual wireless sensing units. Each wireless unit can collect data from heterogeneous analog sensors, such as strain gages, string pots, accelerometers, etc. Cost of the wireless system is only a fraction of conventional cabled systems. Besides wireless communication onsite, the system is also capable of routing data through AT&T cellphone network to an office PC online.
