| 摘要： | Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) conducts an annual condition assessment that covers one third of the highway system. The routing of the sampled half-mile roadway segments is done manually. Many labor-hours are spent that could be better used to improve the timely-reporting of programs, such as, fiscal, targets, maintenance planning, tangible results, along with analysis like life-cycle analysis. The research is to develop a stand-alone geographic information systems (GIS) tool to route the condition assessment trips using a simple sampling process. Ideally, it could also be applied to salt routes, ARAN truck routing, and CHART patrol routing. Incorporation into the MDOT SHA Enterprise GIS will be considered. |
