Comparison of Electric Vehicle Miles Traveled between Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles and Battery Electric Vehicles |
摘要: |
A survey of contemporary plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) charging
infrastructure modeling and planning will be conducted. The objective is
to offer insights into PEV infrastructure assessment for future PEV
scenarios, like the ZEV mandates. The goal of this study intends to
understand the relative share of eVMT between a plug-in hybrid vehicle
and a battery electric vehicle. Research will use real world travel data
from BMW battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and Range extender plug-in
hybrid battery electric vehicles (iREX) to compare the eVMT and utility
factor between a plug-in hybrid and battery electric vehicles. Preliminary
results indicate that a plug-in hybrid vehicle has higher eVMT share on an
annual basis compared to a BEV. The research will also analyze PHEV
driving and charging behavior from 1523 Toyota Prius Prime PHEV data.
Impacts of daily driving requirements, fuel and energy prices, daily eVMT,
and time of ownership of the vehicle on charging behavior will be
quantified. |
