The objective of this project is to obtain data on motorists knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs about motorcycles with a survey. The survey data will improve the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's understanding of how these factors influence safe behaviors and identify areas of improvement in education and outreach. The project will design, administer, analyze and report on the results of a probability-based survey of drivers ages 18 or older on their knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of motorcycles. To get a cross-section of motorists experiencing different levels of exposure to motorcycles, the survey will be administered concurrently in two jurisdictions: one jurisdiction having a higher level of motorcycle riding and one
having a lower level. This methodology will follow a probability-based approach that uses an address-based sampling frame and offer the questionnaire online and on paper. The project will produce a final report and survey data for public use. |
