Assessing the Impact of High RAP Contents on Pavement Performance in Idaho
项目名称: Assessing the Impact of High RAP Contents on Pavement Performance in Idaho
摘要: This project will determine whether allowing a high percentage of Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) (greater than 30%) to be used in asphalt pavements negatively impacts the field performance of these mixes, and to identify testing and materials processing protocols that should be used with high RAP mixes. The objectives of this project are to: 1) identify whether asphalt mixes with high RAP contents are likely to result in premature pavement deterioration or not and, if so, to identify the types of deterioration that may result from high RAP usage in asphalt mixes, and 2) identify and recommend additional testing and material processing protocols that need to be adopted to potentially allow increased amounts (> 30%) of RAP in asphalt mixes.
