A state-of-practice inquiry has been requested on behalf of the Local Road Research Board into local and state agency Transportation Asset Management Plans (TAMPs), involving the tracking and management of highway and street infrastructure, facilities, vehicles and major equipment assets in a single, consolidated management system. This research is intended to serve as a first, information-gathering step toward development of a guide for Minnesota local agencies to assist in the creation of TAMPs. This transportation research synthesis will include a survey to identify state departments of transportation (DOTs), counties, large cities, and local transit authorities that maintain consolidated asset management systems with multiple types of public work assets. Respondents with such systems will be asked to provide detailed information and documentation about their methods of tracking and managing assets, rating asset condition, identifying actions linked to ratings, and summarizing needs and required actions across all assets. |
