| 摘要： | The objective of this study is to identify those variables and dynamics that effect terminal logistic operations and explore solutions, which will optimize terminal performance in terms of time, cost, and space utilization, given the various constraints. The research project will discuss the system of intermodal freight movement followed by an examination of container flow at a marine container terminal and it will then identify the study objectives. The research will examine the working MCT for the purpose of identifying efficiencies to improve capacity utilization and overall terminal productivity. Global trade will continue to grow at a rapid rate. The pace of economic globalization will be quicker in the near future. Competitive pressures, the drive to outrun the competition, the desire to secure a foothold in the international market place, fear of losing control, and overall national industrial policy have all had impact on the international trade. All these pose a daunting challenge to the container shipping industry as well as to the port authorities, terminal operators, labor unions, international carriers, other public agencies and the general public. |
