| 摘要： | The ITE Iowa Section offers monthly meetings to its membership that feature either technical/professional learning topics or professional networking opportunities. All meetings that present a technical/professional learning topic have an option for members to attend remotely using Microsoft Teams. Many meetings have concurrent in-person gatherings in the Des Moines, IA, USA metro area and in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. The presentations have featured local speakers as well as national experts, such as Randy McCourt, P.E., PTOE (H), who spoke from Portland, OR, USA on the Speed Reduction Techniques Recommended Practice, Kay Fitzpatrick, Ph.D., P.E. (F), who joined us from College Station, TX, USA to present a new speed limit setting model from NCHRP 17-76, and Mark Norman, P.E. (F), who spoke from Virginia, USA about the recent U.S. federal transportation funding bill. The Section has been seeing about 25 percent of its 170 members attending its monthly meetings on various professional topics. The annual meeting is a daylong event featuring presentations and lunch, is traditionally held in November just prior to the Iowa Traffic & Safety Forum. |
