The High Growth Job Training Initiative is a demonstration of the Employment and Training Administrations (ETA) commitment to long-term skills training and economic development in key high-growth sectors that will have a lasting impact on the American economy. To fully implement an effective training and development program for the transportation industry, as for each of the targeted industries, ETA recognizes the need to sustain partnerships among industry, education, all levels of government, and the public workforce investment system. This report presents the findings from an information gathering process that involved a variety of transportation industry stakeholders reflecting on workforce issues and catalogs their proposed solutions. The report outlines the process where ETA, the transportation industry business community, education, and government representatives formed partnerships and developed model solutions to address key workforce challenges. |
