摘要: This report examines two linked phenomena in transportation planning: the geospatial analysis capabilities of local planning agencies and the increasing demands on such capabilities imposed by comprehensive planning mandates. The particular examples documented in this report are local planning agencies in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, California and their geospatial analysis capabilities relative to the implementation of SB 375. SB 375 is a groundbreaking law mandating planning for compact growth as part of California's comprehensive legislative initiative to reduce greenhouse gas (Ghg) emissions. As such, SB 375 explicitly links transportation and land use planning to reduce vehicle miles traveled, thus reducing Ghg. SB 375 provides incentives for compact development in the form of additional transportation subsidies and streamlining of, or exemptions from, the California environmental regulatory process (California Environmental Quality Act or CEQA). / Availability Note: Product reproduced from digital image.
