摘要：	Galliford Try has started work on an £85m distributor road north east of Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire for the county council. The contractor was awarded the deal in April through the Midlands Highway Alliance Plus. Galliford Try chief executive Bill Hocking said: 'Our sustainable growth strategy is built on collaborative working partnerships with central and local government and our frameworks, and this project is more evidence of the success of that approach.' Galliford Try will also be seeking to work with local subcontractors. The award came after the Department for Transport confirmed a grant of £49.5m towards the scheme in March. Roads minister Richard Holden said: 'For too many years, Melton has been plagued by disruptive and polluting traffic congestion, which has made it difficult to reach its historic town centre. That's why we're investing nearly £50m to boost local connectivity and tackle congestion.'
