With recent announcements indicating a significant shift in direction on transport, environment, and net zero, it's clear that we need to find differentwaysofworking together with national government if we are to deliver positive outcomes for our places and communities. ADEPT'S Manifesto for Stronger Places outlines key asks for political parties, emphasising the critical role of place directors in delivering government objectives. We have outlined top priorities across our core areas. As well as calling for more ambitious devolution, an end to competitive bidding and a commitment to sustainable growth and levelling up, the document sets out our stall on net zero - alongside climate adaptation and nature recovery, it needs to have a place-based approach. For transport and infrastructure, three key priorities have been identified, each addressing pressing issues and aiming for transformative change. |
