| 摘要： | Huge congratulations to alt our Highways Awards 2023 finalists (revealed on pages 6-7). You have been nominated for the most prestigious and important accolade in the sector and every one of you is worthy of massive respect. Once again, we owe an enormous thank you to our sponsors, who make the night possible, and the independent judging panel, which includes senior figures from across the UK. Choosing between the incredible list of submissions is the hardest job in highways and they have been scrupulous and rigorously fair in choosing the entries that deserve this special recognition. With a record number of submissions this year, judging was no small task and this shows that our awards, and by extension this sector, just keep getting stronger. From major projects to community leaders, to wellbeing policies and small-scale nudge interventions, there is a huge range to our finalists but they all have something in common: they changed our society for the better by doing something new. It is really important that we take this one night of the year (11 October, Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London, since you asked) to celebrate those who somehow managed to look up from the pressures of the day job to try to give that little bit more, who said 'there might be a better way'. Your success may be personal but its outcomes are there for everyone to learn from. |
