"My opinion of the process from initially seeking information from the SOE through to gaining IEng status is very positive. "The SOE advised when it would be best for me to apply considering my completion of a BEng in Mechanical Systems Engineering earlier this year. The application was a little daunting upon first review. My workplace mentor and application sponsor identified how my current employment can relate to requirements detailed within the Engineering Council's UK-SPEC. "I could also draw on experience from previous employment within the Royal Navy. In addition, my mentor had also served in the RN and so had a good understanding of my previous roles prior to joining Zurich Engineering. I highly recommend finding a mentor for your application that has a full understanding of your current role - and previous roles if possible - so that all of your experience can be used to support your application. |
