Two former London Transport vehicles represented different decades of its postwar history. ECW-bodied Bristol LH6L BL88 (OJD 93R) was one of 95 new in 1976/77 for routes that demanded their 7ft 6in width and 30ft length and was originally registered OJD 88R, while AEC/ Park Royal Routemaster RM765 (WLT 765) was new in 1961. Recently acquired for preservation and now registered R765 XSW was an East Lancs Pyoneer-bodied Dennis Arrow new to Watford-based London Traveller in 1998 as its 301 (R1 LTB). The Arrow, with in-line Cummins C-series engine, was the double-deck version of the step-entrance Dennis Lance. Only 73 were built, 41 of them with the Pyoneer body. This bus was sold to Northamptonshire operator Rodgers Coaches of Weldon in 2000. |
