摘要: Following its successful launch in 2022, the Chester & Wrexham Charity Heritage Bus Running Day returned on New Year's Day. More than 26 vehicles were booked to attend, and most took part on the day. Most ran on one or both of two services from Wrexham bus station. Trunk route D1 operated through to Chester on service D1 via Rossett, up to every 10min during the day, supplemented by a 15min circular local service 44H in Wrexham. It was held in aid of Nightingale House Hospice, which offers a wide range of facilities to local people and their families living with life-limiting illness. Participants with a local connection included ChesterBus 4 (B204 EFM), a Northern Counties-bodied Leyland Olympian new in 1985 and photographed at Foregate Street in Chester city centre, and Crosville KG147 (LFM 728), a 1950 Bristol L5G halfcab with 35-seat rear-entrance body, running here in Wrexham Garden Village on the circular 44H. Star attraction for those seeking vehicles from farther afield was preserved Brighton & Hove 108 (N408 MPN), a 1996 step-entrance Dennis Lance with Optare Sigma body. It is resident in Manchester and was passing a Welsh language bus stop when travelling through Marford on the Dl. Its livery is from a period when Brighton & Hove identified its trunk routes by different colours.
