Austrian public transport operator Salzburg AG and a group of enthusiasts from the city have sent a lorry-load of spare parts to the western Ukraine city of Ivano-Frankivsk to ensure that elderly trolleybuses remain on the road. Although Ivano-Frankivsk has so far escaped heavy damage in the ongoing war against Russia, the daily operation of around 20 former Salzburg Graf & Stift NGT204 M16 articulated trolleybuses bought from 2016 has been held up by red tape and a lack of funds. The 18 metric tons of spare parts include traction motors and tools. The material was provided by both Salzburg AG and Salzburg trolleybus preservation group Pro Obus. |
