摘要: Although 16 pages smaller than the seventh edition published in 2020, this latest version of the Notable Independents handbook lists 59 such fleets in the British Isles, two more than last time As before, 'independents' include arms-length municipals in England and Wales, and government-owned Bus Vannin in the Isle of Man. Lothian Buses and McGill's have been moved to the latest Smaller Groups handbook (Reviews, September) while Yellow Buses Bournemouth has gone out of business. In their place are Atlantic Travel of Bolton, JMB Travel of Newmains, Grant Palmer of Flitwick, Tanat Valley of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant and Townlynx of Holywell. Rotala's recent acquisition of Midland Classic came as the book was being prepared and its vehicles are shown with their new five-digit Diamond Bus fleetnumbers. The publisher has also produced a supplementary page for its 2022 Stagecoach Bus Handbook (Reviews, February) listing the vehicles taken over in London from HCT Group and Tower Transit, as well as new coaches on order for Scotland and electric double-deckers for Cambridge, all coming from Volvo.
