摘要: Bus passenger numbers in England continued to hold steady at or around the 80% mark for most of June, according to the usual release of figures from the Department for Transport. But there was no change recorded in the numbers travelling on national rail strike days Tuesday 21 and Thursday June 23, compared to the same days the previous week. An uplift of 4% could be seen on Saturday June 25, although that figure was almost identical to Saturdays during May. However, there were some operators reporting that they had benefited from the rail strike in specific locations, although the continuing driver shortage meant that few were able to lay on extra capacity to cope with greater numbers. Transdev reported increases of up to 52% on its York-Leeds CityZap route, and 30% on the 36 between Leeds and Harrogate. First Glasgow carried 13% more passengers.
