摘要：	During the 3rd quarter, Brazilian soybean transportation costs to Shanghai and Hamburg increased from 949 percent over the same period last year. However, transportation as a percentage of total landed cost declined 7-29 percent as farm values increased 53-79 percent. The 3rd quarter cost of shipping a metric ton (mt) of soybeans 100 miles by truck increased about 25 percent, from $8.95 in 2007 to $11.15 in 2008. Truck rates declined during the months of August and September due to a reduction in exports and the low demand during the slack period between harvesting one crop and planting the next crop. However, rates were still higher than the same period last year. In the last 3 years, the peak of Brazilian soybean exports have occurred in July, when almost two thirds of soybeans are exported.
