Piling and foundation specialist Soilmec has developed its SR Blue Tech range in response to demands from industry and society to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. The first model launched in the Blue Tech line was the SR-75 in 2020. Now there are five SR Blue Tech models available. Soilmec has designed the hydraulics and rig actuators for the Blue Tech range around a new energy-saving architecture and optimised them to reduce performance losses during operation. The range's diesel engines are equipped with Soilmec's'start and slow'system, designed to increase fuel economy. The rotary heads have been developed with optimised lines, with a dedicated distributor on the rotary and power control through the Soilmec Drilling Management System, DMS 4.0, which allows remote monitoring of the rigs via the cloud. Combining these features means the system runs at a higher pressure with less fluid flowing. This leads to improved performance, reduced operating costs, better cooling efficiency, fewer emissions and less noise pollution, says Soilmec. According to Soilmec, site tests have shown that a 23% reduction in pressure loss corresponds with an SR-75 model fuel saving of 10.4litres per hour based on a standard drilling cycle. Soilmec was established in Cesena in 1969.Today it is an international company, part of the Trevi Group (as Trevi Spa division), employing 1,300 people and supplying to over 90 countries on five continents. |
