摘要: The National Asphalt Pavement Association's (NAPA) initiative to advance low-carbon technologies. The Road Forward, is gaining momentum as more flinders sign up. In June NAPA reported that Surface Tech and Gallagher Asphalt had pledged support and in August Teichert and Holcim US also joined the campaign. Launched in January 2022, the aim of The Road Forward is to advance technologies, products and processes that will help the road building industry reach 2050 net zero carbon goals. Funds will be spent on both research and education. Surface Tech president Steve Santa Cruz and Gallagher Asphalt president Dan Gallagher both sit on NAPA's Advisory Council. Gallagher is also on NAPA's board of directors and was vice chair of the Climate Stewardship Task Force that developed The Road Forward. Gallagher Asphalt is a pavement contractor while Surface Tech supplies polymer fibres. "I realise that net zero by 2050 can sound like an impossible dream. But with innovation and the goals and tactics that NAPA has laid out, I believe it is fully attainable," said Gallagher.
