These moves will help develop Kohler's portfolio and low emission and zero emission power systems. Heila will now become part of Kohler's Power Group, which focusses on engines, power generation and clean energy. Heila Technologies was founded in 2015 as an MIT-born company in Somerville, Massachusetts and works on simplifying the integration and operation of distributed energy resources (DERs) and microgrids. Heila has combined theoretical knowledge with practical industry experience to boost the efficiency of the energy industry using DERs such as batteries, fuel cells, and solar arrays as the base of a resilient and reliable grid for communities and businesses. The company's core offering, the Heila Edge, is a modular energy platform designed to advance a modern, clean energy supply by simplifying the integration, operation, optimisation and scale-up of DERs. Its decentralised system provides automation and modularity, reducing system complexity and cost while increasing resiliency and reliability. As a developer of power source hardware and software, Heila can integrate and optimise distributed renewable energy resources and storage solutions to deliver a modular microgrid, providing reliable power when the grid cannot. |
