| 摘要： | This report presents information from the literature and interviews that airport operators are generally aware of the needs of the elderly who make up a significant portion of their customer base, and how they are trying to accommodate them. Challenges of wayfinding, fatigue, technology and equipment, and needed amenities are described, and practices that airports are enacting to accommodate and improve the airport experience of aging travelers are provided. However, often airport operators efforts are hampered by the lack of a well-coordinated policy, the constraints presented by existing buildings, and the costs of implementation both in terms of capital investment and increased staffing. The report will be of special interest to airport operators, airlines, and related stakeholders in understanding the aging demographic, defining issues, and implementing effective practices to accommodate aging travelers. |
