| 摘要： | Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) seeks to coordinate individual network operations between parallel facilities/routes, in order to create an interconnected system allowing cross network travel management. Traditionally, efforts to address congestion have focused on the roadway system (freeways, arterials, etc.), rather than an integrated approach, including between modes. However, these individual system components often serve routes that are parallel to one another, forming a corridor linking the same origins and destinations. This has presented the opportunity for operating and optimizing the entire system, specifically in an urban environment. To date, limited work has been performed examining ICM in a rural/regional context. Based on this, there was an interest by the Western States Rural Transportation Consortium (WSRTC) in exploring regional ICM in greater detail. Specifically, there was interest in establishing guidance and criteria to initiate, plan and develop a regional ICM plan. This work defined what regional ICM is, established the factors to consider when developing a regional ICM plan, and developed protocols and criteria for ICM deployment in a regional context. These were then tested by developing a high-level regional ICM plan for two routes in the WSRTC region. |
