| 摘要： | We use annual California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) micro-data on household income and location from 1993 to 2013 in conjunction with data on the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (L.A. Metro) rail system to compute household mobility and income-distribution statistics within the 0.5 mile radius area of rail stations. Specifically, we longitudinally follow the residential location of tax filers who at any point during our time span reside within a 0.5-mile radius of a Metro rail station. We describe the manner in which the income distribution in station areas changed between 1994 and 2012. We also test whether the opening of LA Metro rail stations impacted the in, out, and net (in mobility rate minus out mobility rate) mobility rates of households in station areas. We focus on descriptive and regression analyses. |
