John Driscoll, director and CEO of the Alabama Port Authority, has been appointed to serve a three-year term as a director on the New Orleans branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Driscoll's term will run from January 1, 2022, until December 31, 2024. "Being asked to serve is a privilege," Driscoll said. "Functional ports and supply chains are critical to the flow of raw materials and goods supporting this nation's commerce. I look forward to this appointment and hope I can help broaden understanding on how ports and transportation systems impact the regional and national economy." The Federal Reserve, which serves as the United States' central bank, is made up of 12 reserve banks, in addition to its Board of Governors in Washington D.C. The Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank covers Georgia, Alabama, Florida and portions of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
