摘要: TEN YEARS AGO, four new natural gas plants-one processing plant and three "cracker"- were in the planning stages in the Ohio River Valley; the Corps of Engineers proposed a plan to reduce lock hours on the Ouachita River; and the Delta Mariner was removed from the site of its allision with the Eggner's Ferry Bridge. TWENTY YEARS AGO, First Wave Marine exited bankruptcy; the Indiana Port Commission added two executive positions and named directors for two of three state ports; and Red River Valley Association President Richard Brontoli said Louisiana's J. Bennett Johnston Waterway was set to move 4 million tons of cargo in the coming year.THIRTY YEARS AGO, the 43-year-old, 1,800 hp. mv. Port of Brownsville was destroyed by a 12-hour fire in Dycusburg, Ky.; U.S. marshals took possession of 53 barges of Mariner Transportation Inc. in New Orleans, La.; and Beaumont Bulk Terminal said a new facility that would export wood chips to Japan would increase the port's revenues by 60 percent.
