| 摘要： | In supersession of Ministry's circular of even number dated 07th April, 2022 following guidelines are issued on Internship of B.Tech./M.Tech. Civil Engineering Students in National Highway Projects: Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has been implementing large number of National Highway projects under Bharatmala Pariyojana and various other schemes through its implementing agencies i.e., NHAI, NHIDCL, State PWDs and BRO. The competencies of engineers working in MoRTH, its implementing agencies, contractors and consultants is a very critical requirement for desired outcomes of such highway projects in terms of strength, durability, serviceability and sustainability. It is however observed that, at times, lack of competencies of the engineers is responsible for poor planning, design and construction leading to functional shortcomings, failure/premature distress during construction and/or acceptance of below specification works. It is generally seen that the contractors and consultants do not provide adequate initial/mid-career training to their engineers. While importance of such training/skill development programmes cannot be belittled, it is also essential that the graduate/post-graduate civil engineers recruited by the contractors & consultants have adequate exposure to highway projects for successful delivery of ongoing highway development programmes. |
