| 摘要： | It has come to notice that action is not being taken by Highway Authorities on the instances of damage to the highways assets under their jurisdiction, for instance, damage to the boundary wall of access controlled highways/expressways, removal of road furniture, encroachment on NH land, damage to railing etc. in order to gain unauthorised access. 2. In this regard, I am directed to say that The Control of National Highways (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002 has delegated powers to the concerned Highway Administration to remove all unauthorised occupations and also to recover the cost incurred in the removal arising in such instances. All concerned are directed to take strict action upon occurrence of such instances as per the applicable laws and get the points of unauthorised access closed immediately as well as repair and restore the damaged boundary walls. Failing to take effective action will be considered as dereliction of duty and strict action will be taken against officers found wanting in this regard. |
