摘要: The objective of this project is to provide an actual full-scale structure using an alternative method of concrete construction which is expected to reduce the problem of early and advanced deterioration of concrete structures. The reinforcing steel would be eliminated from the top and bottom layers of this structure thereby eliminating the destructive expansionary forces resulting from the expansion of the reinforcing steel due to its corrosion. The reinforcing steel would be replaced by an Advanced Composite Material (ACM), in this case carbon fibre meshes, which are inert and therefore not prone to corrosion. (A)
