The flexible fuel vehicle engine is developed based on a 1.5L, inline, four-cylinder, four-stroke inlet multi-point injection gasoline engine, which uses fuel property proportion sensor to identify the fuel characteristic.The arithmetic of injection quantity and ignition timing are modified to adapt to various fuel.Flexible fuel engine can identify diverse ethanol gasoline blends actively such as E0, E20, E40, E60 and E85.The effects of fuel ethanol concentration on external characteristic, fuel consumption and thermal efficiency of flexible fuel engine are studied.And the emission characteristics of CO, HC and NOx are tested to ensure that flexible fuel vehicles follow the emission laws and regulations. |
