Research and/or Engineering Questions/Objective These days, one of the main targets in automotive industry is to reduce the weight of vehicle as well as increase the strength. Casting is most widely used method of forming aluminum into products. Aluminum is a very light metal, and it is about one thirds times lighter than steel. Aluminum casting can be suitable method for chassis to change the structure and composition.Soaluminum casting which have merit of aluminium and casting has been introduced.Aluminum castingcan create deep and complex shapes that it cannot be made by steel panel. The objective of this study is to apply hybrid material for the front cross member which needs high stiffness and crash-characteristicbehavior. |
