| 摘要： | This proposal describes an approach for conducting research on the development of Kansas Freight Analysis Framework (KFAF). Researchers will gather data from government agencies and industries to be used in identifying the major freight corridors and connectors in Kansas. With the KFAF, decision makers can properly plan for future increases in freight traffic, identify future trends regarding freight transportation, and ensure that infrastructure can meet future freight transportation demands. Besides the economical impact, KFAF development will have societal and political benefits because the framework provides the needed information for decision makers to find reasonable solutions to raise revenues for infrastructure construction and maintenance and to create a variety of fee assessment systems for infrastructure users. If successful, results of this research could be used as a model for other States in the United States to develop their versions of freight analysis framework that match local economic and business conditions. |
